Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information iShure collects when you use this website, why we collect it, who we share it with and how we look after it. It also explains the rights you have over your own information.

We handle personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA). We have written this policy in plain language so that it is easy to follow. If anything is unclear, please ask us.

1. Who We Are

This website is operated by iShure, a reseller of Apple products in South Africa. For the purposes of POPIA, iShure is the responsible party for the personal information collected through this website.

You can contact us about your personal information at any time on 072 472 9663 or at info@ishure.co.za.

2. Information We Collect

We only collect information that we need. Depending on how you use the website, this may include:

  • Enquiry and subscriber details: your name, email address, phone number, company name and the products you are interested in, when you complete our contact form.
  • Order details: your contact, billing and delivery details and a record of what you ordered, when you place an order.
  • Messages: anything you tell us when you phone, email or message us, so that we can help you.
  • Technical information: limited details such as your browser type, device and the pages you visit, which most websites record automatically.

You give us most of this information yourself. Where a field on a form is marked with an asterisk, we need that information to help you, and we may not be able to respond to your enquiry or process your order without it.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal information to:

  • respond to your enquiries and give you the information you asked for;
  • process, deliver and keep you updated about your orders;
  • help you with returns and refunds;
  • keep our website secure and working properly, and prevent fraud and spam;
  • keep the business and tax records the law requires us to keep.

We do not use your information for purposes that are unrelated to these without telling you first.

4. Why We Are Allowed to Use It

POPIA allows us to use personal information only where we have a lawful reason. We rely on the following reasons:

  • we need the information to conclude or carry out a transaction with you, such as delivering an order;
  • the law requires us to keep certain records;
  • we have a legitimate interest, such as keeping our website secure;
  • you have given us your consent, for example when you ask to hear from us.

Where we rely on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time by contacting us.

5. Marketing Messages

We only send marketing messages where you have asked to hear from us, for example by subscribing through our contact form, or where the law otherwise allows it.

You can opt out at any time and at no cost by contacting us. Opting out of marketing does not affect the messages we need to send you about an order you have placed.

6. Payment Information

Payment details you enter at checkout are used only to process your payment.

7. Who We Share Your Information With

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where this is needed to run our business and serve you:

  • courier companies, so that your order can be delivered to you;
  • our payment provider, so that your payment can be processed;
  • providers of website hosting and customer-management services, who store information on our behalf;
  • authorities or other parties, where the law requires us to disclose information.

We share only what each provider needs to perform its service, and we expect them to keep your information secure and confidential.

8. Information Stored Outside South Africa

Some of the service providers we use may store or process information on systems located outside South Africa. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to make sure your information receives a level of protection similar to the protection POPIA gives it.

9. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Cookies are small files that a website stores on your device. This website uses cookies that are necessary for it to work, for example to remember the items in your cart as you move between pages.

Our forms are protected against spam by Google reCAPTCHA, which is subject to Google's own privacy policy and terms.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you do, parts of the website, including the cart and checkout, may not work properly.

10. How We Protect Your Information

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your personal information against loss, damage, misuse and unauthorised access.

No website can be guaranteed to be completely secure. If we become aware that your personal information has been accessed by someone who should not have it, we will let you and the Information Regulator know as soon as reasonably possible, as POPIA requires.

11. How Long We Keep Your Information

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy, or for as long as the law requires us to keep it. When we no longer need it, we delete it or make it anonymous.

12. Children

This website is not aimed at children. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian to contact us or place an order on your behalf.

13. Your Rights

Under POPIA you have the right to:

  • ask us whether we hold personal information about you and request a copy of it;
  • ask us to correct information that is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete;
  • ask us to delete information that we no longer have a lawful reason to keep;
  • object to our using your information, on reasonable grounds;
  • stop receiving direct marketing from us at any time;
  • withdraw a consent you have given us.

To use any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We may need to confirm your identity before we act on a request, to make sure we do not give your information to the wrong person.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your personal information, you may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa. Details are available at inforegulator.org.za.

14. Links to Other Websites

This website may contain links to other websites, including our social media pages. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites, and we encourage you to read their privacy policies.

15. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will always be published on this page, with the date it was last updated.
